The whole industry took him for a fool, saying that if there was a way to grow cape in Santo Domingo, it would be. Persisting in his idea, he succeeded. These cigars are not only innovative in their tobacco, but also in their manufacture. Most cigars are made up of five tobacco leaves (wrapper, Binder and three filler leaves), while Opus X cigars sometimes have as many as nine. Each vitola is composed like a book, with its own introduction and chapters.
