We've always listened carefully to feedback and paid particular attention to the cigars our customers have come back for year after year. Thus began our search for the perfect smoke, which took us around the world, ending up in a small town in Nicaragua over twenty years later.

When we began to hear whispers that a Cuban cigar renaissance was taking place in Nicaragua, we were naturally intrigued. It was a story of rebirth, passion, dedication to preserving a craft and, ultimately, the resilience needed to persevere against considerable odds. So we headed to Esteli to see for ourselves whether the products lived up to the hype.

We discovered ideal growing conditions to create a tobacco that is both bold and surprisingly mild, and it was love at first puff. We knew our search was over when we met the passionate artisans. They had strong Cuban roots and came from a long tradition of consistently making luxury cigars. Creating a cigar we'd be proud to call our own was quite a journey, but we think you'll agree it was worth it when you light up your Merchant Cigar.
