Fonseca

Founded in 1891 by Francisco Fonseca, the brand was manufactured in a small factory on rue Dragones in Havana. It was sung by the poet Federico García Lorca: "J'irai à Santiago avec la tête blonde d'un Fonseca".

Francisco Fonseca is credited with wrapping the cigar in a thin sheet of Japanese paper and housing it in an individual tube. He also had the idea of creating a tasting room in his factory to test the blends chosen by his customers.

Fonseca also specialized in cigars for banquets, receptions, clubs and more.

C’était un bel homme qui prenait beaucoup de soin à son apparence extérieure et à transmis cette élégance à ses cigares qu’il faisait envelopper individuellement dans un papier de soie, une tradition qui continue jusqu’à aujourd’hui pour les quatre formats de la marque.

Blends of tobacco varieties from the Vuelta Abajo region make Fonseca an ideal cigar after light meals.

All Fonseca formats are entirely handmade.
