Whisky
Whisky or whiskey is the generic name for a group of spirits made by distilling malted or unmalted cereals. The origin of whisky is still the subject of controversy between the Scots and the Irish, with each claiming the oldest evidence. Whisky was subsequently exported to the New World (notably the USA and Canada). Since the early 20th century, distilleries have developed in Japan, and more recently in the rest of the world.
