The story of Plantation Rum

Passionate, curious and a lover of good things, Alexandre Gabriel is a committed perfectionist, always on the lookout for the most advanced production methods. "A great Cognac, a great Rum, is above all the sharing of a strong emotion due to perfect execution. In a way, we are the craftsmen of Rum, the goldsmiths of Cognac". It was in 1989 that Alexandre Gabriel discovered the Maison Ferrand, one of the oldest in the region. While Ferrand's expertise was undeniable, sales were more than confidential. However, it was love at first sight for Alexandre Gabriel, who enthusiastically introduced himself to the specificities of Cognac. He also surrounded himself with a team of enthusiasts and travelled the world to establish a distribution network sharing the same values and vision as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, Alexandre Gabriel scoured the Caribbean for the finest rums and launched Plantation, a range of local rums. Fifteen years later, in 2012, he was voted Master Rum Blender of the Year at the prestigious Golden Rum Barrel Awards and named Distiller of the Year by The American Distilling Institute. Today, as president and owner of Maison Ferrand, Alexandre GABRIEL has expanded the reputation of the House, focusing on three great spirits that still fascinate him to this day: Ferrand de Grande Champagne Cognac, Citadelle artisanal Gin and Rhum de Terroirs Plantation, authentic spirits that express the terroir from which they originate. Plantation rums are divided into two distinct series: blends and vintages. The vintages in the range Plantation are an invitation to travel. From Jamaica to Barbados to Panama, each rum has its own distinctive local flavors. The blends are refined by the Maison Ferrand cellar master.
