Cigars Ashton Aged Maduro

The history of cigars Ashton

Your first impression will be: "Oh no, it must be too full-bodied. Or, "Oh no, I only like light-colored capes." Well, think again! Any self-respecting cigar enthusiast must try Ashton "Aged Maduro" at least once.

Maduro wrappers, if processed properly, produce a rich, sweet taste that is unmistakably their own. Few cigar makers can afford the patience and money to process Maduro wrappers properly, very slowly and naturally. They can take up to two years longer than a classic wrapper to reach their peak quality. The capes that cover Ashton "Aged Maduro" are grown, selected and graded exclusively. They are then transported to the factory, where they are once again selected and graded, before the long, incredibly slow process of natural fermentation and maturation begins.

The bunches of capes leaves are placed in large piles (pilones), where they naturally eliminate unwanted ammonia. When a specific temperature is reached in the middle of the pile, it is dismantled and recomposed from the inside out and from the top down, so that all the leaves ripen in the same way. This operation is carried out a minimum of six times, until the experts are satisfied that they have reached their peak quality and sugar content.

The leaves are then packed into "bales" and stored for another year to mature. It's only when all these stages have been completed that maduro tobacco leaves can express their full potential, with their typical rich sweetness. Once ripening is complete, the leaves are selected once again. Only fifteen percent of the leaves are kept for the manufacture of Ashton "Aged Maduro". So when you choose a Ashton "Aged Maduro", you're guaranteed the finest quality maduro tobacco Mother Nature has to offer.
