Grappa Di Amarone Legno 46% Capovilla 50cl is a marc brandy made from Corvina grapes, an ingredient in Amarone della Valpolicella (one of Italy's most famous straw wines), and distilled by the master Capovilla in his famous bain-marie stills just outside the town of Bassano. Grappa di Amarone is a racy brandy. Aged in oak barrels, it is marked by notes of honey, lemon, chamomile, exotic fruits (pineapple, banana) and clove.
Smelling this grappa again a few hours later, other, more fibrous yet juicier scents (ripe plum, apricot peach) burst from the glass. It's the hallmark of the greatest spirits to be changeable and free in their movements. In this way, they remind us that, when it comes to tasting, modesty is the mother of virtues.
All Capovilla eaux-de-vie bottles are first laced, then waxed and finally sealed entirely by hand, reflecting the care taken at every stage of production. The handwritten label indicates the type of fruit, the year of harvest and the number of each bottle. A true work of goldsmith.
