Castle Hill Single Malt Smoke Barley Whisky is the result of a careful selection of 40ppm peated malt and a specific yeast chosen for fermentation. After a long distillation, the spirit was placed in bourbon and French oak casks for ageing.
On the nose, the empyreumatic notes express themselves on the smoky, earthy and fruity notes. On the palate, a whisky with a beautiful personality and a nice aromatic volume and balance on smoky and peaty notes.
Whisky Castle was founded in 1999 by Ruedi Käser in Elfingen, Aargau. One of the pioneers of Swiss whisky, this house offers today some fine productions, with a minimum of 5 years of ageing guaranteed in their single malt (the current production is rather on 7 to 8 years of age). Today, it is Mickael and Raphaël who work for the development of the brand.
