Castle Hill Single Malt Double Wood Whisky has a beautiful structure and well marked aromas. After an initial maturation in new French oak barrels, it undergoes a second maturation in 600 litre sherry casks (American barrels).
On the nose, cereal, sultanas and a slight hint of toast and smoke. On the palate, we find malt with notes of chestnut and a smoky touch.
Whisky Castle Switzerland was founded in 1999 by Ruedi Käser in Elfingen, Aargau. One of the pioneers of Swiss whisky, this house now offers some fine productions, with a minimum of 5 years of ageing guaranteed in their single malt (the current production is rather 7 to 8 years old). Today, it is Mickael and Raphaël who work for the development of the brand.
