Punch Cigars

Punch changes several times...

Punch changed owners several times. In 1874, the company was bought by Luis Corujo, who refined the aromatic range of the cigars while giving them more character in terms of their appearance and technical characteristics. Ten years later, Punch became the property of Don Manuel Lopez Fernandez, founder of Juan Valle & Co. In 1925, Punch cigars were moved to the same factory where Hoyo de Monterrey cigars were rolled. This collaboration between the two brands is still in place today for part of the production. When the Wall Street crash of October 1929 occurred, the resulting economic crisis did not spare Punch. The brand was sold again and the buyer was Palacio y Cía. Thanks to the initiatives of the new owner, Punch moved upmarket, which increased its reputation and led to a significant increase in sales.

Characteristics
Punch cigars are either mild or medium strength. They all release a woody note with a slight tobacco aroma. This aromatic background is typical of the brand’s cigars and is complemented by the specific flavours of each vitola. These puros are suitable for both beginners and advanced smokers. Each vitola contains a blend of tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo plantations. These are long filler cigars that are entirely handmade in the La Corona factory. Several modules are available, but the Corona is the most represented.

Those who wish to discover the brand will start with the unctuous Punch Punch.
